At all Hero Practice Services affiliated dental practices, we are committed to providing high quality, compassionate care. We provide a full-service dental home for children ages 6 months to 20 years. Our dentists and team members are trained to create a child-friendly environment where kids can have positive dental experiences and receive excellent quality of care.
Access to affordable dental services for children continues to be an under met need in the United States. In fact, according to the Guide to Children’s Dental Care in Medicaid, tooth decay is the single most common chronic disease among U.S. children. Low-income children suffer disproportionate rates of tooth decay with 80% or caries in permanent teeth impacting 25% of U.S. children. Lower-income and minority children are far less likely to have routine dental checkups.
Untreated childhood dental issues can have serious consequences. Pain, infection and destruction of permanent teeth and surrounding tissues are common and can lead to developmental issues and chronic health problems. In addition, affected children frequently have poor school attendance and performance and can be stigmatized due to their appearance. At Hero Practice Services, we believe that every child deserves great care. That is why we welcome Medicaid and most insurance plans, locate our practices in underserved neighborhoods, and work hard to educate children and parents on the importance of oral health.
It takes the right kind of dentist to make an impact. Our dental providers are licensed general dentists who have dedicated their practice to treating underserved children. All our dentists and dental staff members love to work with children and have the compassion and skills to make kids of all ages feel comfortable in the dental chair. Our dentists receive ongoing training and continuing education in best practices according to the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. They are mindful that each child presents with individual dental needs and an individual caries risk assessment and plan is considered for each child. Our approach to dentistry is to emphasize oral hygiene, promote preventive practices and, when necessary, provide high quality restorative services with compassion. Dental providers at Hero Practice Services affiliated practices are supported by a local regional dentist who serves as their direct supervisor. In addition to having regional support at the local level, Hero Practice Services has a staff pediatric dentist who serves as the Dental Clinical Director. With this level of support, a dentist can always access an experienced dental provider to discuss best practices and evidence based dentistry.
We strive to meet all of our patients dental needs by having the staff, skills and equipment to support the full array of dental services patients may require; including:
In addition to promoting healthy dental experiences in the traditional dental office setting, general anesthesia services are available to provide comprehensive dental treatment for children with extensive dental treatment needs for whom treatment in the traditional practice setting would not be in the best interest of your child.
